Robert received his diploma in Mechanical Engineering at RWTH University in Germany in 2013. As a visiting student at UNSW in Sydney, Australia, Robert worked on hybrid processes involving membrane technology and enzymes for wastewater treatment for his diploma thesis. After his graduation, he accepted a position as research engineer in heat transfer at BASF SE in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Since 2014 Robert is a Ph.D. student in the Wessling group in Aachen, focussing mainly on biomass pretreatment and electrochemical processes in biorefineries. As a visiting researcher in the McCloskey lab, Robert spends his time with catalyst development and characterization for the oxygen reduction reaction.
